More than a wedding day
A wedding at The 1774 Inn unfolds over the course of a weekend—welcoming guests, sharing meals, and celebrating in a setting that feels both relaxed and refined. From arrival to farewell, the experience is designed to feel uniquely personal, and allows you and your guests to connect more deeply with each other and this beautiful place.
A weekend to gather
Thursday afternoon
Your 1774 Inn hosts greet and welcome you to your weekend. Guests arrive and settle into the Inn. A welcome dinner for guests who are staying onsite sets the tone for the weekend.
Friday
A slow morning, followed by set-up day. Your guests can explore the area (beach, boating, golf, hiking, antiquing, swimming…) while you set up and rehearse your ceremony, then head off to one of our preferred local venues for your rehearsal dinner.
Saturday
Get ready in one of the Inn’s beautiful spaces - the Hayloft Suite, parlor room or study. Have your first look in the Estate house, garden, woodland path or on the dock. Have your ceremony on the water or in the barn (in case of weather), enjoy lawn games and toasts during social hour on the patio and lawn. Take golden hour photos on the dock or grounds. Dine under a tent or in the barn, then dance on our patio under the stars.
Sunday morning
Linger over coffee, then say your good-byes. You might check out then head offsite for a farewell brunch.
We welcome you to extend your reservation for additional nights (Wednesday, Sunday or more). Couples have found that the longer they stay, the more relaxed and enjoyable their experience. It’s lovely to wake up Sunday morning and not have to rush to pack up and depart!
